skip ahead (v.)
- to move forward, fast forward

Example: I don't like listening to albums with her because she always tries to skip ahead to her favorite song.


behind-the-scenes (expression)
- back stage, what most people don't see, the making of something

Example: I love watching behind-the-scenes shows about computer animation.


footage (n.)
- film

Example: I got some great footage of the concert on my video camera.


rented (v.)
- paid to borrow

Example: I rented a car last year and drove to Vancouver.


inmate (n.)
- someone who is placed in a hospital or jail

Example: An inmate escaped from the county jail last night!


mental hospital (n.)
- a hospital for people with mental illness

Example: I worked in a mental hospital for a year, but it was too depressing.


twists and turns (expression)
- interesting and unexpected changes

Example: People tend to like dramas with lots of of twists and turns.

- a theory that people are planning something secretly or hiding something

Example: The president suspected a conspiracy so he fired everyone he worked with.

- grown and changed

Example: The small, family restaurant has developed into a famous chain of fast food restaurants.

- shows in a series

Example: I have seen most episodes of the Simpsons cartoon.
