MARTIN:

Thank you for letting me join you today.

CARRIE:

You're welcome. We've enjoyed it.

WAYNE:

We've enjoyed showing you the town and how we celebrate the fourth of July.

CARRIE:

We especially like the fireworks.

MARTIN:

This looks like a good place to watch the fireworks.

WAYNE:

This hill is the best place. Do you see that place down there?

MARTIN:

It looks like a softball field.

WAYNE:

That's right. That's where the fireworks are.

CARRIE:

We'll be able to see them perfectly.

MARTIN:

Where are your children?

CARRIE:

They're playing with their friends. Wayne, you'd better get them. It's about time for the fireworks. I want them with us.

WAYNE:

OK. I see them over there. They're having a good time. I'll go get them.

MARTIN:

It's a good crowd.

CARRIE:

Everyone comes. We take Independence Day seriously. Of course we have fun, but people are quite patriotic. Come on, kids. The fireworks are about to begin.

CHILDREN:

OK, mom. We were just playing. I want to sit here.

CARRIE:

Ohhh, beautiful.

MARTIN:

The crowd seems happy.

CHILD:

Me too.

WAYNE:

Wow. Look at that!

CARRIE:

Are you having a good time?

CHILDREN:

Yes. Uh-huh.

WAYNE:

They're smiling. I think they're having a good time.

CHILD:

Look at that. It's perfect.

WAYNE:

That was a big one.

CHILD:

I could feel it!

MARTIN:

The children really like the fireworks. They seem very happy.

CARRIE:

I do too. They get the feeling from me. I'm just a big child myself.

WAYNE:

The fourth of July is always enjoyable. People always have a good time. Look at the people.

WAYNE:

See. Everyone is smiling and laughing.

MARTIN:

They seem very pleased.

CARRIE:

It's been a good day. First we had the parade in the morning. That was fun.

CHILD:

Except the boy fell off his horse.

WAYNE:

He feels fine. I talked to his father. The boy's just fine.

CARRIE:

Then after lunch we had the band concert.

CARRIE:

Are you having a good time?

CHILD:

Oh, yes.

WAYNE:

Look at that!

CHILD:

Is there more?

CARRIE:

I'm sure there is.
