  音 L61P1J.MP3[553KB]

MARTIN:

Good morning. It's a nice day, isn't it?

RANGER:

Beautiful.

MARTIN:

Do you think it will rain?

RANGER:

I don't think it will rain today. Maybe it will rain tonight.

MARTIN:

I hope it doesn't rain today. I have only one day to see the park.

RANGER:

Enjoy your day.

MARTIN:

I'm a reporter. May I ask you some questions?

RANGER:

Sure.

MARTIN:

How long have you worked in the park?

RANGER:

About ten years. I became a ranger after I finished college. I studied forestry in college.

MARTIN:

How large is the park?

RANGER:

It's five thousand acres.

MARTIN:

How many people visit the park?

RANGER:

We have about three million visitors each year. Most of the visitors come in the summer, of course.

MARTIN:

Does anyone come in the winter?

RANGER:

Yes. Some people like the winter weather, the cold, and the snow.

MARTIN:

What can you see in the winter?

RANGER:

You can see the animals better.

MARTIN:

Do you have many animals in the park?

RANGER:

Not very many. The parks in the West have many more animals.

MARTIN:

Why do people come to the park?

RANGER:

Ask them. One thing is the water. We have a river, a lake, several streams, and this waterfall.

MARTIN:

Yes, it's beautiful.

RANGER:

Excuse me. I have to go to work.

MARTIN:

Thanks for your time.

RANGER:

You're welcome.

WOMAN 1:

It's beautiful, isn't it?

MARTIN:

Yes, it is. Wonderful.

WOMAN 1:

Isn't it cold today?

MAN 1:

It's not very cold.

WOMAN 1:

I like warm weather.

MARTIN:

It's warm in the sun.

MAN 1:

Do you think it will rain?

MARTIN:

I don't know. I can't tell. I hope it doesn't rain today. I have only one day to see the park.

MARTIN:

Good morning. Isn't it wonderful weather?

MAN 2:

I like warm weather. It's a little cold today.

CHILD:

I saw a snake.

MARTIN:

Do you like snakes?

CHILD:

Well. . . Do I like snakes, dad?

MAN 2:

Yes, I think you like snakes. You haven't seen very many snakes. We don't have snakes in town.

MARTIN:

What do you like?

CHILD:

I like animals. I like the trees.

MARTIN:

Have you seen the waterfall?

CHILD:

No. I've seen the lake.

MAN 2:

We're going to the waterfall now.

MARTIN:

Enjoy your day.

MAN 2:

Thanks. You enjoy your day too.

CHILD:

Bye.
